Dr Dean is a Research Associate at the Australian Industrial Transformation Institute at Flinders University in Adelaide, Australia. His research focuses on the human dimensions of the fourth industrial revolution (Industry 4.0) and its impact on the future of work, employment and society. Dr Dean’s doctoral thesis presented a critical analysis of policy responses to deindustrialisation in Australia, identifying opportunities for advanced industrial transformation that have helped to inform his research around industrial transformation and the industry 4.0 agenda. His work has been published in international scholarly journals, conferences and symposia, and in submissions to Australian Parliamentary and Human Rights commissions around the human and organizational impacts of industry 4.0 and other digital technologies.
